https://neuron-school.ru/ru/ (www.neuronschool.org) is a non-profit initiative organised by the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Sassari (Italy) in collaboration with Sardegna Ricerche, with the aim of providing students with a solid introduction to neuronal modeling by teaching ideas, methods and integrated practices of computational neuroscience, through a combination of theoretical lessons and practical experiences with simulators. Thanks to the support of Sardegna Ricerche, the school offers at a very modest cost both a panel of teachers who include leading scientists in computational neuroscience, and a good logistic support for students.The NEURON School was started in 2018 with the goal to fill this gap, providing students with a solid introduction to neuronal modeling teaching the central ideas, methods, and practices of computational neuroscience through a combination of lectures and hands-on work. Further, since the School program focuses on the description of biologically realistic neurons, an important secondary goal of the School is to help students cross the traditional discipline boundaries that most are trained in, and serve as a bridge between experimental and theoretical neuroscientists.
